Late Cancel & No-Show Fees on Classes With Space or Without a Waitlist

We sometimes get asked why a late cancellation or no-show fee applies even when a class doesn't appear to have an official waitlist. The simple answer is that our policy is about fairness and respect for the whole community — and here's why that matters.

Why the Fee Applies

Even when a class looks quiet or doesn't show a waitlist, spaces still matter. Members may have been checking in earlier hoping to book, and a late cancellation means they miss that opportunity entirely. Similarly, members who want to train with a friend can't coordinate around a last-minute space opening up — so both may end up missing out.

It's also worth understanding how waitlists work in practice. Many classes clear down from long waitlists late in the day. If a space is released too late, someone who would have joined simply can't rearrange their schedule in time to take it.

Our Booking System

Our booking system doesn't have the ability to distinguish between a full class and one with spare spaces, or to make exceptions based on how a class looks at any given moment. This means the policy applies in the same way every time, for every member, regardless of circumstance. While we understand this can feel frustrating, it does allow us to keep the system straightforward and fair across all five of our locations.

Our Late Cancel & No-Show Policy

  • Late cancel — cancelling within 1 hour of the class start time, or after 10pm for morning classes, incurs a fee

  • No-show — missing a class without cancelling incurs a fee

Both are designed to encourage timely cancellations so that spaces can be made available to other members in good time.

Why It's Fair for Everyone

We want all members to get the most from their membership. A consistent policy means spaces are available when people are actively looking to book, coaches can plan effectively knowing who is coming to class, and members who commit to a session aren't left missing out because a space opened too late to be useful.

Our Ask

If you know you can't make a class, please cancel as early as possible. Even when a class looks quiet, cancelling promptly gives another member the chance to train and helps us keep things running smoothly for the whole community.
